I see the new centre is open. Anyone been yet?
Had a quick coffee there on Sunday before last, just out of curiosity. It was late on so pretty empty - seemed a nice place, spacious, big windows but no real views that I recall. Muddy boots welcome apparently. Didn't check out any other parts of it (saw some hire bikes sitting around).
I've always been in the habit of just driving back to Edinburgh after a GT ride, never really used the hub cafe, so the new place is probably not somewhere I'll go to either. If I was with the family it looks a nice spot for some lunch etc.
Let the boycott begin 😉
Looks really nice inside, but like Garry, never use the cafe as so close to home.
However, if I were to stop for lunch, I know where I would eat 😉
So is the Hub cafe still open? Until when?

As above never used cafe and the shop only in emergency so not much to say other than the buildings look nice perhaps not £9m nice but better value than the pesky trams are to date.
Car park is bigger and a mix of gravel and proper road...flash

They do nice cupcakes. Yum.
Heard the Hub will close and be flattened by end Oct this year

J i was up today and FE have closed (padlocked) the seven stanes carpark below the hub! 👿
the cheeky fukers have done it to force punters into the peel centre.
well if its busy i will use the peel carpark refuse to pay for parking and continue to use the perfectly acceptable Hub cafe and shop.
I would encourage other to refuse to pay for parking until FE treat tenenats with some respect IMHO
I will def be heading up to try the new cafe. if the hub cafe and the new cafe are the same priced I would deffinately rather sit in a new cafe than a done up portacabin.
Everyone can moan all they want but in the end they will all use the new cafe and bike shop.
I'm not a particularly regular user of GT but I thought the Hub was a bit over-priced for what is was and what you got, I preferred to go into Peebles after a ride for refreshments
The new place looks nice - I'll have to give it a try next time I'm there
