Anyone ridden the uplift trails

Footage of the SDA on Vimeo and it looks mental. Any real life experience?

Spotted a vid on Mpora as well - looked pretty full on. Actually put me off going there as you'd need a DH bike i reckon. Thought they might have had a more Red mass popularity route down. That might help them make some actual money.

They are planning a red route, no idea when it will be ready. There was a twitter update midweek saying that they are scopping it out soon.

If you want to see proper full on then try and dig out the footage from last year in the wet, even the winner had a proper over the bars crash on his winning run.

BB - the mechanic at my LBS was in the race, I'll ask him what it's like for us mere mortals..

HARD AND HARD AND HARD
At least there is almost a nice surface now- last year was grass and mud and pulling brakes had no effect as you just slid then crashed ๐Ÿ™‚

Try and find some footage of last year's SDA round over there. It was immense. Total technical mud-slick. Just endless footage of people falling off, even the top guys were struggling.

Saw a plan by the entrance to the cafe whilst up there for the SDA that they are planning on adding loads of new routes (subject to applications etc). A red route coming off 'riders right' from the chair would be good, without cutting back under the chair.

As for now, well, the footage on Pinkbike makes me giggle ๐Ÿ™‚

Yup, last week:

Its proper steep but not as hard as I'd been led to believe, although I wasn't exactly flying down it. There's one very tricky section that's steep, muddy and has extremely tight corners through wooden fences, but other than that it flows nicely. Well worth a trip, and a pop at the Devil's Staircase as well would make for a great day out.

Next time I go I'm taking a much grippier back tyre, a Larsen TT didnae cut it.

At the SDA race the other week, the fastest time all weekend was apparently set by one of the juveniles, a eye-popping 2:48. I took.... longer than that!

I was watching that thinking I fancy a crack at that, then it got to about 2.20 and I thought, no, I don't  But they do seem to have big plans on, should be good if it comes together, Nevis Range and Glencoe as an uplift destination...
