Does anyone know if the off road route in Glen Orchy is still closed? I really fancy doing the Glen Kinglass route soon, starting at Inveroran. I know there is some A85 round Loch Awe, but what the hell. Even if it is closed, the Glen road is still lovely. Anyone done the circuit?

I expect yes. For no other reason than the FC has neither the cash nor the inclination to "maintain it"

Both are a bit of an anticlimax these days - Kinglas has been sanitised at the West end and the Orchy trail (which was always badly designed imv) is now also very poorly drained in many places.

If its been dry though and you get the weather it's still a great day out. Consider it clockwise and try the Stalkers path** over Creag Ghlas (**needs good navigation to get through the forest on to this from the NE)

I was at the bottom of it staying at Invereigh in winter and didn't see any signs suggesting it was closed. Only done the Glen Kinglass bit myself but from all accounts I've heard of that trail, you'd be better taking the road though!

Cheers Heather and Balfa, just always fancied it anti-clockwise starting at Inveroran (or Bridge of Orchy) Don't mind a finish up Glen Orchy as it is really beautiful, with the superb river views, plus you then know you have earned a nice cold pint! Might do that on a Saturday with a cross Rannoch Moor from Bridge of Orchy to Glencoe on the Sunday - just need to get someone else along with a car!!
