Going to Gisburn with the missus tomorrow the first time since her knee incident in 2013. Planning on doing a few laps of the blue.
I think taking my full suss will be over kill for this but anyone taken a cx bike?
I got overtaken uphill on Home Baked by a guy on a cx bike last year. He had skillz.
Yes, a few times. It's bumpy!
Gisburn has enough chatter bumps and rough-edged trails to really require full concentration on a CX, it's really not the ideal bike for it. Some of the trails have some very significant braking bumps too.
That said, if you're just going for a gentle potter around it should be OK, just don't expect to be railing smooth singletrack on it cos you won't be!
I think im trying to stop myself bombing off. As it will be rough on a cx bike.
On the blue you will be fine though your fillings will get a rattle here and there.
The red is possible but don't expect it to be all fun. I got as far as going down Hully Gully blowing out a 30c cx pro tyre before I decided I'd had enough & took the fireroad back.
I wouldn't fancy the new qualifier to Hully Gully on a CX bike.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...

That's a brand new trail, not a qualifier.
Yes, there is a qualifier on Hully Gully.
I've done it,,t'was bumpy towards the end (red)
Not doing it again, not really the right bike for the red route, blue? Dunno.. Never ridden it, try it let us know.
