what are main benefits of rc3 compared to rt shock appart of added piggyback - oil volume? if i will ride both shocks in open mode and same tune , will i notice better performance from rc3 ? need to know if its worth to get rc3.
What size shock does it take? I've got a monarch plus debonair rc3 in 200x57 m/m which is new and unused as I've decided to run a coil instead (on a different frame).
200x57
would you consider to let me try it ? i would pay you some cash. cant really justify buying it without knowing for sure that it provides noticable performance boost.
Where abouts in the country are you?
scotland Tayside (arbroath)
Ah, bit of a trek from the Peak District then.
£250 posted if you fancy. That way, if you don't think it's worth it, you should be able to move it on without too much of a hit. It will come with a full complement of volume reducers.
PM me if interested.
nah thanks. i will keep rt for now. i packed it full with red rubber and run it at 35% sag today. was riding nicely.
No problem.
The current RT on my Reign spikes really really badly on rocky tracks like Antur Stiniog - so much so there have been times where my FAST damper equipped Pike can plow through things with me barely feeling anything - whilst the rear will spike so hard it will almost rip my feet off the pedals. It can feel almost as if you're suddenly riding a hardtail, the RT3 on my old mans Mega does not do this.
I'll be moving over to a coil rear shock soon.
You will get a few things by upgrading to a debonair RT3 Plus, a piggback which means the end stroke damping will be less spikey as there is more room for the oil to move (I think) - it will also overheat less easily, a proper shimmed rebound as opposed to ported rebound circuits - which means the rebound is going to cope with repetitive hits better and more midstroke support by being able to run a more linear setup with higher pressures when using the debonair canister.
thanks tom finally some real insight
i will get x2 ..
Yeah the Float X2 is a good call, it seems to be regarded as the best air shock on the market. It's supposedly a significant step up from a Monarch Plus, let alone the RT.
