I have a 2007 Anthem vertical shock type, and looking at the 2010 new horizontal type. is there any difference for the better when riding the trails? there is any

The early Anthems had the horizontal shock. The newer ones are now Anthem X with a vertical shock and 100mm of rear wheel travel. They're regarded as being being very good.
