I've made some 26" ghetto tubeless installs (20" BMX tube with sealant etc.) but was wondering if this cane be done on a 29er with a normal 26" tube?

I've done it with some CX tyres. Used a Schwalbe 26" tube, as you suggest.

I've made ghetto tubeless 29er using the tape method rather than the inner tube method - works great.

Yes, it's possible, still recommend using tubeless tyres and be careful with what rim you are using - a pronounced hook on the rim seems to hold em on better.

I found that a 24" inner tube works better as it's a tighter fit on the rim...

Mavic TN719's here and they worked fine, as Sam says though, recommended to use a proper tubeless tyre (My Kenda Nevegals took weeks to seal properly!) as it can save you a lot of time and heartache...

Ah 24" inner tube - that's a good idea. I'll give it a go. I'll probably put some sealant in there just to be on the safe side.

I used Nevegals and 24" tubes, worked fine but definitely needed sealant!
