Are you deliberately trolling?

Nobody above has been able to fly with an e bike battery.

Lots of advice has been offered.

To help crystallise the situation, please have a go at flying with your bike and whatever battery you choose. Let us know how it goes.

No, I’m not trolling, are you?

If you read the first post properly you’ll see I have acknowledged that I need to remove the main battery. The range extender for my bike is 160Wh which is within limits for carry on luggage. The Spesh SL range are able to be used with just a range extender which is my intention subject to getting my batteryless eBike on the plane.

I once flew to Geneva with my bike in a bag and a power bank in my hand luggage, no questions asked

Have you considered putting bikes inside your car?

I’m trying to avoid it, but it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll have to drive.

Can you not just ride the ebikes without the batteries?

Or do they not work that way?

There is chairlifts there btw.

I drove. Don't know where you are in the country, but drive to Newhaven, get a cabin on the overnight ferry to Dieppe (so you can rest), then you are off the boat at something like 6am and you drive down via the quiet side of Paris in 8 hours.
We had a great trip in both directions. The only downside is there are only 2-3 ferry's a day so you need to build in a bit of contingency time on the way home (we sat on the beach and had fish n chips). Whilst we were sat at the beach, I got an update from my family... They were still at the airport after wasting most of the day faffing with bags and minibus transfers to the airport.

I'm here in Les Gets too. With my ebike. I looked at the options and driving ticked all the boxes. I don't have a range extender but only used 8% of my 650 battery today if that is of any help.

(Super Morzine to Brochaux to Mossette to Linderets to Avoriaz to Zore to Serrachaix twice to L'Ele descent from Zore to Montriond to Morzine via riverside path.)

I'd estimate that however unfit/medically slow you are, if you're on a trail bike (without battery) you'll be quicker and having a better time on a flat/uphill trail than I am on my dh bike. I still enjoy morzine
