Here we go then..

the (not so) old Mojo...

[img] [/img]

the new HD140...

[img] [/img]

If you want to see bling, have a look at the Ibis forum on mtbr. There's absolutely nothing exciting about my bikes- largely XT with SLX cranks, and the usual finishing kit- Thomson, Hope ProII's and so on. I did find that for the bars I used (685) that a 70mm stem was too short- a 90 made the front a lot easier to control.
I wrapped the swingarm in self amalgamating tape to protect the paint- it works better than heli tape in that area I think, because it's easier to get complete coverage, minimises the effect of any chainsuck, and you can easily see where it's wearing through to top it up.
I started off with it done on the driveside only, but quickly did the other.

Got this ready for the summer - SL frame with (mostly) bits from my Pace 303 hardtail which I can't ride anymore as it gives me a bad back - finished up half a pound lighter! 😀

Cheers lads, liking the builds, vinnyeh it will be your (not so) old mojo that I am getting then but with some nice red links to with my red pro 2's, oh and sounds like I will have a fairly similar build to what you had as well. Shame I won't have the time to build up/swap all my components over until Easter 🙁

Psychie, as you say it is still an ibis, i would have loved to get a HD but there was no way I was goin to be able to spend £2000 on a frame, as it is £1000 is a lot for me, Cinnamon Girl that looks very nice with the 2001 fox forks on it, what sort of weight is it at? I am trying to get a rough idea as to what i am goin to be loosing form the setup i have atm.

Cheers

Thanks. 🙂 Frame bought from Classifieds, new forks and the rest came from my Soul. Weighs around 26.5 lbs and it's a small. It seems heavy to me as I've been used to light bikes for quite a while. Do struggle with the climbs but the descents are fantastic. 8)

Wheels are Hope Pro 3's, brakes are Hope with carbon levers, chainset XT, carbon seatpost and carbon bar. Straitline pedals are on the heavy side.

Liking it Dreednya, I would love to get mine down to around 28lb, think it will be just below 30lb which will feel really light seen as my bike is sitting at 34lb so loosing just 4lb would help me fly up the hills. My wheels arent the lightest but I do like to go for a bit of strength 😀

Know what you mean on the wheels. I previously had Pro3s on my heckler that I transferred to the Ibis, but during a blast round Nant-yr-arian this happened.
[img] [/img]

One minute pumping a corner on the trail, next minute bouncing down the trail watching my bike somersault over me and land 10-12 foot down the trail :(. The wheels were a couple of years old and my lbs reckoned it was just fatigue

Flow rims are supposedly light but strong - fingers crossed. It was built up lighter than this when I frost had it, but the 'extra' weight makes a real difference on the downs, bike feels more 'planted'.

Oooff that is one bent rim, makes me a feel a good bit safer when I a riding with a nice strong below me, and as you say having a bit more weight for the downs deffo makes the bike feel much more planted and I am more than happy to sacrifice a bit of speed on the ups.

Well today I finally got to pick up my new frame.
Came home and couldn't resist starting to build it up, not quite finished yet as I am waiting for the old man to take the rest of my tools down, to replace the chain rings and cassette etc.

But here is a quick glimpse.

Didn't take long to get forks and wheels on, everything was off my old bike already so just had to fit it all on, ha. Haven't touch anything to do with the gears yet though.

That looks lovely, about as subtle as they come in that colour.

I fancied the red links on mine, thought I'd ordered them, but for some reason it turned up with nickel ones 🙂

Cheers,

I was delighted when they said they would change the links to any colour I wanted FOC, meant they would go well with my red pro 2's which I had ordered a couple of months back to go on my original bike :0

large Mojo SL, setup with 36 talas. Running a 70mm stem on it these days rather then the 90mm in the pic.
