Single track world doesn’t exist here; it’s strictly for walkers only. Please help scrap the 2m rule in the forest act of Baden Wurttemberg and sign up to the petition.

Hi Kharim, we are in the Black Forest too.... and have signed the petition...

Its a torrent of rage each time we go out but a charm offensive seems to be working... we are just extra nice and try to ignore all the walkers...

I am getting fed up with being told "You cannot bike here, "Biking is verboten / not permitted" every ride...

A country obsessed with telling you what you cant do...

The singletrack is ace though !

Hey rickmeister good to hear that you've signed the petition. I've yet to hear someone tell me that biking is not allowed, so you must be a wee bit unlucky over in your part of the world. Good to hear that you don't let it stop you.

If my understanding is right, Hessen kind of backed down and chose a sensible option. They were going to change the rules so that you could only ride on a path accessible by a landrover equivalent. DIMB stepped in, and now the rule is something like: if a path has been put in place by the landowner or authority managing the park etc. then it is fair game for bikes, horses, walkers, and wheelchairs, and that all should cooperate with sensible priority on right of way, and sensible wrt to path damage etc.

(I think - based on my translation of something I read on mtb-news.de)

Sadly the Hessen / Badem-Wurtemburg boundary is right in the middle of the Odenwald (kind of just north of Black Forest). So 2 sets of rules apply to one Geo-Natur Park with more paths than you could ever ride in a lifetime.

Rickmeister- I'm not quite in the Black Forest close though and even closer to the Odenwald which I will now try out on my bike. 😀

Sorry late reply- I'm at Kirchberg an der jagst (near Crailsheim) at least for the next week. Thankfully I will be returning to the north of Scotland for about a month so I will get some quality riding in. Hope to get out to Odenwald early next year. If anybody can show me the way that would be much appreciated 😀
