Jesus that looks windy. Not sure that Wiggins getting into the team car and sacking it off bodes well for Paris-Roubaix tho

All credit to Sagan and a few others to try to turn it into a race winning break though. If I was out for a ride in that weather I'd be stopping for a cafe or pub stop.

Is this thread taking over from the Spring Classics thread ?

If so..

The harder it blows and the wetter it gets, the faster the Belgians go 😆

Though I suspect the speed will be a lot lower today... May run over till tomorrow 😆

If we're doing spoilers.. Cavs already gone down the road.. 😕

I wonder if Geraint Thomas might be a good shout given the conditions today despite his exertions a couple of days ago.

It's a horrible feeling too, gusty, wet & smooth roads, the bike gets shunted sideways without warning.

Bloody hell - blown off the road!!! Great job to get back on. It looked like the other 4 waited for him.

That looks horrendous, proper phone-the-missus-for-a-lift-home stuff.

Is something strange happening with the timing, or is the bunch's time deficit going up at a similar rate to that which the distance is coming down?

They're at the "playing silly buggers" stage now. I almost want Paolini to take the win now

He does, it's just more aero now 🙂

Was it my imagination or was the thumbs up over Paolini's shoulder directed at Terpstra and Thomas in a "well done for worrying too much about each other lads" sort of gesture? Given his you race with your head and your heart gesture, I'm guessing yes.

well timed by Paolini, tail wind pushed out the best attack distance to 5-6km

Hard as nails. The lot of them. Good to see Paolini take it, giving the time he spends doing monstrous efforts for his team. GT is looking to be one of the most dangerous classics riders out there at the moment. And Terpstra is as beastly as ever. It's only a shame there's only one winner.
