Genesis Vagabond owners- mudguards

[#12720170]

Ahoy. I’m finishing off a genesis vagabond build and will be fitting mudguards, which I have. Seemingly though the message to continue mudguard mounts at the rear didn’t get further than the dropouts. There’s mounts there for them but on the two bridges: seat stay and bottom bracket, there are none.
Has anyone resolved this issue?
The three options I see are to either drill a central hole in each bridge and tap or bolt through.
Rivet into the drain holes either edge of the bridges (don’t like that idea)

Use P-clips around each bridge: bit messy.
Any other thoughts?

SKS Speedrockers work well on mine. No faffing with p-clips, etc.

Thanks @ajantom I’ve got some speedrockers, was looking for more coverage but will keep them in reserve.
I fabricated some mounts today to take a rack from a trek 1120, because I like it. I might add a cross tube at the seat stay and hang a mudguard top mount from there then p-clip at the bottom bracket.

@shedbrewed

I like that!  What was the bracket made from?

Was it easy to make?

It was from stainless steel tube, along with some stainless spacers I had turned up. I tig welded it together. Took a few hours as done bit by bit. Hindsight being what it is, I could have made the whole lot from stainless but hey.

It looks great.

Have you run it loaded up?

Not yet. It looks like I’ve torn a disc in my back so riding is out for a while. I’m interested to see if the supports flex too much: on the source Trek 1120 the stays/seat tube triangulation would stop that. The rack is only rated to 12.5kg anyway and in truth even if I were loading up with camping kit I’m probably only around 3-4kg. About the same for my commute kit.
