I am going to buy a genesis croix de fer bike, but I am not exactly sure what size I should pick. I am 179cm tall and I ve got 86cm inside leg. Should I go for a medium or long size? Does anyone can help me out with this?
Guys anyone?
Probably medium. It sort of depends what you're going to use it for though. For throwing around a field in a CX race, go smaller. For commuting /touring, you could probably size up.
Can you try it out anywhere? I was surprised to find that I preferred a slightly smaller size (compared to my usual road bike size) which is what I bought.
Medium.
I am same height with 30.5 inside leg, long back. Medium fits me well.
I'm 178cm and a medium fits me fine.
183cm and a Large for the Day One.
I ordered a medium size, thanks for suggestions. Tomorrow I will let you guys know if I made the right choice. Unfortunetly I couldnt find any bike shop around me where I could try out any genesis bike.
I'm 178 and just recently built a Medium, its perfect.
Hmm.. I'd have strongly suggested a large based on those measurements, unless you like CX/BMX.
I'm 5'11", 32" inside leg, so quite close to your numbers and my 2016 large is definitely not too large. In fact, I could probably fit on an XL for touring, especially if it were built with flat bars, bar ends and a stem about 90-100mm. From 2016 onwards, frames have evolved into something a fair bit more compact than earlier, with a slight slackening of the head angle and a distinctly dropped top-tube.
I'm about 6cm taller, and the large feels quite snug to me. Large, I say.
