Just seen the sneek pic of the Genesis Vagabond and read that the new Longitude will be 650b+. Does anyone know anything else about future bikes both for Genesis and Pinnacle (jameso, give us a clue if you can). I would love to see a Pinnacle Ramin singlespeed (must be possible after the Arkose ss).

Agreed. Would look great in that olive paint-splatter colour!
If I could post a pic of what I'm sat in front of now 🙂

Great bikes, just back from a cracking ride on my '14 Ramin 4 and my '10 Genesis iOID is still a blast every time I get on it.

That I like very much. Any more new stuff you can tell us about?
2 models of crmo frame and fork Arkose and some disc road bikes, also a load of new colours on kids bikes inc a 26" disc/rigid model. So not a huge amount of 'new', mainly spec and detail revisions across the range. Some other new models due that will be out as soon as they're ready rather than slotted into a 'launch'. Great to be getting back into steel frames, the Arkose seemed like a good bike for that.
Like that name : )Vagabond
that does look good.... had my eye on the Genesis 650+ and that one looks right up there too
Thanks for the update. I like the look of these a lot.
Umm .. : )
Looks similar to a Swobo Mutineer.
Not to me it doesn't !
Jameso - will the ss fit 29er wheels?
Clink, it will, it's based on a std Ramin frame with a tad more clearance at the back and an EBB. It won't be using boost etc, the idea is similar to the Ramin 1, you have a good entry-level B+ bike that can run your old 29er wheels or the B+ wheels can slot into your other 29er maybe.

Spot on! That's what we need and what I want. Why is it that Pinnacle doesn't try to pull the wool over our eyes..
jameso - any ideas on the prices for these new Ramin models?
Not confirmed yet coomber, just juggling some spec details now. Aiming for a low RRP for a sound bike with upgrade potential rather than anything aspirational. A bit like a Ramin 1 with some upgrades, the wheelset will force the RRP up a bit also.
Sounds promising.
will keep an eye on these, looking very good
what about the randonneur project?

Any rough eta?
Loving my the idea of one of these types of bikes.
Clink, back end of 2015 rather than this summer.
Ok, ta
Any more news on the Vangabond?
jameso - any idea on the colour of next years Ramin One & when these will be available?
Any changes to it?
(I would have bought one by now if it wasn't that lime colour!)
Bar end shifter? No likey :-(. Shame really as bike looks proper tough.
Does seem a bit of a strange choice
Bar end shifter?
Helps hit a pricepoint. STI's are super pricey by comparison to bar end shifter and a brake lever. One of the Pinnacle's used a set up like that last year.
The are cheap.
Bar end shifters is also lots more flexible on front derailleur and chain set choices
That looks like an MTB double on the front and presumably an MTB front Derailleur. I don't think that would work with STi
I think we can blame Shimano not genesis
Sadly I want this bike

Everyday's a schoolday :-)... Are they indexed nowadays or friction only? I can just imagine them being massively irritating to shift with on a bumpy forest track.
Woodnut - shimano ones i've used were switchable between the two and front mech was friction only, and the indexing was pretty sweet actually.
Jameso - that Ramin looks great, hope it'll be in a matt colour! Is this why it's difficult to get 650b+ aftermarket wheels/tyres at the moment, because so many companies are developing 650b+ bikes?!
Will the Vagabond have enough clearance for 2.35" Big Apples?
Any chance of it in shiny metal (931?)
Any more spec / availability info on the vagabond?
It looks great.
The one bike thread made me think that I'd go for a rigid bike with the option of running 650+ and my Rohloff. It looks like someone just made it for me. 🙂
Any more spec / availability info on the vagabond?
Availability is currently showing 1/11/15 (but not confirmed and don't know if orders already placed would be earlier than that)

Please explain 650B+ to me. Is it another name for 27.5 or yet another wheel size?

It's 650b with a wide rim and fat (2.8ish) tyre
So Jameso, any updates on the Ramin b+ and when it might be available..?
Will have some pics pretty soon. WTB B+ wheelset, QR spec with convertable hubs, Deore 1x10 inc brakes, crmo foks inc a few extra bottle mounts than before, geo is a tad slacker and longer but will still feel good to ride loaded up, uses a clamp-shell EBB for height adjust or SSing. £800 RRP.
Thanks for the update. Sounds ideal to me, like the versatility and seems like great value too, esp when compared to complete longitude. Look forward to the pics!
The Arkose 2 was the one with bar end shifters and hydraulic brakes - I have one
I'd love a steel Arkose but unlikely I'll be changing this for now. It's probably only 8 months old!

Any sign of these pics yet ?
Not yet sorry, could be later next month now.

🙁 ..Sounds just what im looking for , either this or the new longitude..
What colours it come in ?
Jameso,
Any update on the new Ramin Frames? I've pretty much worn thru the NDS chainstay using 2.3 Purgatories and I love the ride-would rather keep the Ramin going for now, rather than have a garage full of 29er bits I can't use if I buy the Iroko......
Actually that's a slight exaggeration, but I've scribed a noticeable groove in the chainstay....
Anything in the pipe line from Pinnacle that resembles a lightish xc bike, not too steep HA, doesn't break the bank? 😀
Any more Ramin 29er updates?
Sorry, missed this the last few times it's had bumps. The 1 (same spec, now just B+ compatible), 2, 3+ (the B+ bike with EBB, 1x10 Deore) and the 4 (SLX 10s, 120mm Reba) are all in the pipeline but logistics delay in getting them in, will need to check for updates next week.
The 3+ is a flat dark/bold orange. Same as the current Lithium 4, looks good with big tyres and black kit/decals.What colours it come in ?
Thanks. Are they QR or 142 rears?
QR on all. Iroko 2-4s are 142 but Ramins are staying QR for now.
So who is forum go-to-guy for insider info on Genesis kit now? Still trying to find a frame only weight for the Datum...

Still showing as TBC on the Sportline B2B
Jameso - Range is sounding good, will there be a Ramin b+ compatible frame only option available at some point? Having a b+ compatible ramin 1 sounds great idea...
Frames, yes.
Definitely interested in the ramin 3 with ebb, will it be sold as frameset only?
