[#5675299]

I've been stocking up on the recent PSA's on here but haven't used the gels recently just been dropping a Go tab on the bottle.

Thought I'd have a couple of gels on a ride of about 2 hours last night and have been to the loo 4 times this morning ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Seems to be a pattern with these gels just wondered if anyone has the same problem ?

I've got 2 boxes of the things to get rid of...

I used some on the Ullapool Sportive recently. Had to dive down a ditch 70 miles in! I assume that if you use them regularly you get used to them. But I haven't used them enough to find out!

It's worth trying a few. In common with lots of folk, I've found the SIS gels to be particularly devastating and the Torq gels to be much more gentle.

Honey Stinger were great (but no longer available).

Clif seem to be OK for me too.

On a pootle / scenic / not too far ride - proper food FTW but on longer / harder rides you'll be wanting the Torq Rhubard and custard ones: delicious!

Never got on with any other brands, especially SIS...

You have to get your stomach used to swallowing globs of guey semi-liquified protein... then you'll find gels are ok.

Mule Bar kicks for the win. 100% natural, tasty! Oh and Apple Strudel is an amazing flavour!

Find one that works, and then only use them for last ditch racing energy (i.e. within the last hour). They've got to be the most overused, unecessary 'nutrition' product out there - I've seen people using them on a gentle 15mph club run FFS.

High 5, no rear end trouble for me, but some stomach cramps.
Now use snickers and flapjack.

Yum all that lovely gelling agent. I recommend dates, figs, or a banana instead.
