anyone know where i can get get pads for under bar tape for drop bars?
Similar to the specialized bar Phat, but dont want to buy that as i dont want that bar tape, just the gel pads and not sure you can get them separately?
I have these on my cross bike - work well and going strong after 3 years.

Use cheap mouse mats instead? http://5metresofdevelopment.blogspot.co.uk/2011/03/redux-taping-padding-flared-drop-bars.html
My bars on the brutal steel road bike are wrapped with cheap cork tape, double wrapped around the hoods and then wrapped with fabric tape. Not as bulky as you'd expect and makes a difference! Next time I re-wrap some bars I'll probably try gel thingies though
Good idea Mike - how well does it last over time?
clubber do you need 2 sets of the cinelli stuff to do the drops and the tops?
Fizik stuff looks good too.
IIRC one set contains four pieces - two for the tops and two for the drops
EDIT - this says two in each pack
Send me £4 and you can have a set of phat pads (2 tops, 2 drops).
Email me at shameer AT gmx DOT co.uk and I can reply with details and a photo 😀

Just as cheap to buy the phat tape kit as a separate kit from fizik.
You can get gel pad kits on e-bay,less than 3 quid i think.
The Fizik stuff is good; I've been using the same pads for 3 years, but you can also increase the amount of padding by wrapping your bartape with greater overlap. Worked for the 3 Peaks.
I went the Phat wrap gel route a while ago. I've got big hands but the bars just felt massive.
Ended up putting a (Velox, I think) adhesive cloth tape on the tops (useful to fix the gear/brakes cables onto the bars too) then a set of Bontrager Double Gel tape over the top - perfect for me.
I just cut off some strips of the old bar tape that I am removing and tape it on with electrical tape before wrapping the new tape. Seems to work well and is free!
