currently running an slx 10sp triple (24/32/42 with a 11-34 cassette)
going to go 2x10 with an slx double (38/26 with 11-36 cassette)
question is would i be spinning out to much on the 38 tooth or would there not be too much difference.
its on my xc bike which i use on the road to get to the trails.
have the option of going 40/28 which may be better but a bit tougher on the climbs.
any opinions apart from mtfu for the hills

42/11 is around 10% higher than 38/11 - smaller than the jump between individual gears.

If you use 42-11 quite a lot then you will notice.
I went from 30/42 double to 36t single, and really notice the lack of top end on the road, but not enough to bother me!
