Boring, I know, but my front cable exploded (literally) on me last night, so I figure it's time to replace it, and the rear too. I've only just realised I don't have any thing at all useful in my spares bin though. This is looking great value..

Anything better out there? Been using standard shimano on the bike since I got it, just over 2 years ago, so don't see the point in blowing three times the price on gore cables or anything. Interested in value. Is this worth the extra £1.31?

These are basically the same as Gore Ride Ons but less than half the price. Fully sealed. Fit 'em and forget 'em

Sure you're not interested in Gore?(£16)- note it is not the full length version.

Looks good RM, I too baulk at expensive cables (having fitted a few sets and seen them work no better than normal)

Another shout for the mudlovers. Had mine in for a few weeks now, faultless. Handy enough to fit too, though I found the outer slightly tougher than the standard Shimano, so make sure you have good cutters.

Al, I bought mine because I was getting problems with sticky shifting, and on taking out the old inners, they were very dirty, the ferrules were bad too.

I usually but SP41 and an XTR kit for the ferrules etc and then just cut new outers when needed and then swap inners if/when.

I have the mud lovers on my winter bike and been good though 🙂

Cheers all. The mudlovers look good, but think I'll give the cheaper ones a go.

I use these on my C456 with interrupted outers: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/transfil-gear-cable-waterproof-kit/

Seem to be doing a good job so far.

On the scandal I am fitting full length outers.
