Want to replace my rear mech cable and outer so as well as the cable I need the outer, the ferrules or whatever they are for the ends of the outers, and the crimp thing for finishing of the cable at the mech. Any kits, or somewhere you can buy the individual bits?

Also, I've replaced Shimano gear cables where the little screw in the shifter give access to the cable. Can't see anything similar on my SRAM X9 shifter - am I missing something?

Go down to your LBS with some biscuits, they'll sort you out.

if the new X9 stuff is like the X0 then you need to remove the whole top cover to replace the cable

schmiken - I did go to my LBS, which is 40 mins away and is not a dealer for my bike so don't use them much. They were going to charge silly money for the outer plus bits.

MMW - you don't get springs and bits flying everywhere if you take the top off then?

Was hoping for some online location that does all the bits I need

no, and looking at the website they look the same as X0

undo the big silver round thing on top, remove plastic case, push cable carefully back into mech (this should pop out the little endy bit)

fitting is reverse
