Looking for some new cable outers and wondered if anyone could recommend any decent ones for Shimano gears and brakes?

Cheers

Any decent stainless cable (ptfe coated if you can get them at a good price) with full length SP41 outer

A quick warning, I went for Goodridge gear cable kit and its 5mm not 4 mm as usual. It didn't fit my frame so I can't use it! Damn it!

Liking the Goodridge stuff (various colours outer, black inner) - by the metre from CRC and the inner was the perfect length on my Solaris that I didn't need to cut it or put a cable end on!

Whatever your LBS has on a reel. As long as you get the routing right (no kinks etc) and lube the inner it will be fine. I really don't understand the money some people spend on cables as they don't feel any better for it.

I use a good quality stainless inner cable like SRAM pit stop ones as they are a little thinner than most ,
And shimano sp41 gear outer ( which you an now get in colours)
Works well and not much money you can't replace it a few times a year

I tried a few and SP41 are definitely the best option.
Goodridge and SRAM offerings were pretty poor as the cables running through the outer seemed to detach leaving exposed cable at either end and shifting went to pot.
SP41 on the other hand have been spot on for over 3 years now

Full length Shimano SP41 every time, and quite importantly, the SP4 sealed end caps to help keep the crap out.
To back up this recommendation, we had a customer who was having to have normal cable replaced every couple of months over a period of four or five years,he's been running the above set-up for about a year now, with no problems.

I was looking for a reel of brake outer the other day - have always bouhgt sp41 before, or so I thought:

does sp41 now specifically mean gear outer ? pretty sure you could buy either in the past
