Which do people prefer? The one that sticks out front or the one that mounts directly above the bars? I prefer the look of the out front one but are they sturdy enough? Any recommendations?

I've used an on the bars mount and a combined edge and virb mount that sticks out in front of the bars. I'm not that keen on the way the shot sways around with a bar mount and think the sensation is worse with the camera further out front. The problem may be that I swerve all over the place like a drunken motorist.
Well I'll be using it for mountain biking if that's any help. Anyone else?
I use the standard tube mount on the bars, with a 100mm stem. Works fine. I imagine the out front mount will sweep too fast while steering and possibly be more prone to vibration.
I use a superstar gopro multi mount with the virb mounted under the bars.

I've got both types and haven't noticed much difference in picture quality, the Garmin out front mount is much neater with the Virb X/XE.
My biggest gripe is the amount of noise (gear changes etc) transferred from the bike to the camera.
Scholar that cnc'd one looks sweet! Any complaints? Do you happen to have a pic? Cheers.
I use the standard Garmin handlebar mount for VIRB from Wiggle, but I mount it upside down so it is below the handle bars. In the settings you can flip the camera so it later plays correctly on your PC. I rode a very bumpy track at Rivington and the image was unbelievably clear. Even clear on a cobbles ride. It is also seems very well held in the mount. If it does not come off on Rivi even after a low speed tumble, it should stay on anywhere.
