Hi, After years of refusing GPS as I love maps so much I bought one. I've just used the new (to me) gpsmap 64s on a test ride. I managed to load the route and could see my tack riding over the route ok but the screen did not stay centered on where I was. I had to constantly scroll the screen to check I was on route. Is there any way to get to to stay centered on my arrow?
I found "keep north up" and "keep direction up" but seemed to make no difference. I loaded the route by a menu called something like "mange tracks".
Many Thanks for any ideas for this GPS ludite!
I've got a 62s and haven't come across this problem. If you're on the main map display the little blue arrow head that indicates your position & direction should stay centred as you've pointed out. The only way I can make this happen is if I've used the cursor to measure a distance to a feature on the map. You escape this by pressing quit, at which point the blue arrow centres itself again.
Have you tried the Garmin forum ?
D.
Thanks. I'll try quit. The cursor always seems on the map. I just didn't want to have to sign up to another forum! Hoping it was some simple neby gps error and I needed to look fora setting called XYZ or YZX type of thing!
