Anyone know who does a battery replacement service for an older Forerunner?

I've had it for some years now, battery doesn't last as long as it used to but while it still works I'd like get the battery replaced.

I take it no one has had the need to replace a battery before. I would be shame to resign it to dead phone draw. Which is shame because it still works but doesn't hold the charge.

It's pretty much impossible. But if you ask Garmin how, they might send you a discount code off a new one (I got 40% off).

Depends which one it is, my lad has the Forefunner 10 (I think) and the battery is parp, I found something saying you could replace the women's battery but not the men's.

It's a 235. There are some instructions on how to do it on Youtube which in the distant past when my eyes were younger I could have replaced it myself. Doing those types of repairs as a vari focal glasses wearer I risk breaking it.

I've replaced a few unreplaceable batteries in various devices over the years. I've found its rarely worth it as the "new" battery is unlikely to be anywhere near as good as the one the manufacturer originally installed.

Have you tried Garmin tech support? They may re-furb it for you (or provide a re-furb replacement) for not too much cash...

This ^^^.

Garmin do refurb units in an exchange basis for many devices. But if too old / obsolete then not. Bit will often offer a decent discount on something new. I
I had a couple of 910xt watches on refurb, then a 920 that eventually had a battery that only lasted an hour or two. Garmin had no refub units for that but gave me something like 35% or so off a new device (I got a 955 as the latest equivalent).
