Borrowed this from a friend and having trouble...
I have transferred a gpx file to the Garmin but cant find a way of opening it to see the route - the manual is next to no help - anyone give me a steer how I can get the route recognized/find it?
cheers
Well it could be a few things. You need to plug garmin into laptop and open basecamp. If you look in the folders and if you see the file in 'my collection' you just drag an drop it into the garmin memory card folder.
Often the filename is an issue, so also try and rename the file before you transfer it.
Then it might be a track or a route, so on the device look in both options.

How did you do this? If you did it by transferring the file directly (eg copy and paste into a folder) you need to put it in the right place.
And as above, depending on the file type, you find them in different places.
If I remember correctly, gpx file goes in gpx folder on device (just use windows explorer) then you go to Track Manager to open it...you should see the file name as soon as you open Track manager. Don't need basecamp
thanks all - yep it is there its just not called the filename that I used - the default seems to be calling new files Track
