[Closed] Garmin Edge 705 - how to keep charged/running for 24h hours plus?
A fully charged unit gets around 15hrs battery life, but this'd be with no backlight or anything like that... Any ideas on how to extend this?
Some sort of on-bike charger or external battery pack perhaps? Surely some 24-hr soloist chap has sorted out a way to do this?
cheers ๐
powerchimp? but why would you want to?
24hr log of going round in circles.
Thinking about this a little more, I don't think the unit can be used whilst it's being charged?
I'm sure I've seen something about it, a lot of the SDD folk have used a GPS to follow their route, they must have a method!
cool, cheers for that Njee. so I just need to source an external battery, no problems it would seem. Though I did think the unit wouldn't work whilst charging, apparently it does ๐
I'd get the same one as Mike, bargain!
I know this is an old post, but it's worth a try.
I've got the 705 and the gomadic charger, we're planning cycle touring trips and an end to end.
What's the best way to charge the 705, turn it off and charge? (tried this and only charged enouhg for 2 hours).
Turn it on and charge (turn off sat acquisition)? This seems to show the battery is charging i.e. I can get the charging icon when pressing he power button briefly.
What do you peeps do?
thanks
will it work on a 305?
Should do.
