I'm new to this GPS thing and picked up an edge 705 primarily as a means of navigation.
I used it last weekend for a route and it worked fine. This week I've put tomorrow's route on as a .gpx file and loaded it from my saved rides. However, when I go to the map, it shows 2 routes: my planned route for tomorrow and what appears to be the logged route from last weekend. How do I get rid of last week's route? I've removed all other saved routes from the Garmin, deleted all the saved ride data so I don't know why it's still there?
If anyone can offer any advice it would be most appreciated.
Edit: Think I've solved it. I turned off 'navigate' in the 'Where to?' menu and that seems to sorted it.
Welcome to GPS hell.
A lot of people (most?) don't bother with gpx files as they are a PIA and subject to wierd errors that Garmin 'have no knowledge of'. How about 'as the crow flies' routes when you've told it to stick to roads?
A lot of people use courses for nav which avoids all the 'off route' and straight line cobblers (tcx files).
Google it and save yourself some grief.
