[#3125556]

Not downloaded ride data to Connect since 29th June, there's quite a few rides on their, but all can be viewed on the device (705)

Have been trying tonight to download to Garmin Connect but when I connect to computer it starts 'saving history' but only gets to 1% then screen changes to just show the connected to computer image.

When I then try and upload it tells me there are no new rides?

Could I have too much data on there?

Not very IT savy so go easy on me ๐Ÿ™

Might be to much data, could you either upload manually or select only a few at a time?

Had this on mine as well. It is too much data on the device. If you have done any long rides (more than a couple of hours data) this seems to be the ones that cause it issues when there are lots to transfer. If you can select the individually that might work, otherwise its a case of delete some then import the remaining ones.

I tend to delete all every month now to stop the problem.

as a workaround - If you download and install Training Centre, you should then be able to upload them to that and then save the relevant tcx files and then manually upload them to Connect

Never had a problem myself, I regularly upload about 4 months of data and it's fine! Agree though that selecting the biggest activities will likely sort it.

Stupid question, but are you using the correct, Garmin supplied USB lead?
I was trying to download shedloads (over a year) of rides and it wouldn't work with Carmin Connect, even though my laptop could see the device. Google'd it and apparently it is quite common - the device is very sensitive to the USB cable used apparently. I was using one from a USB HDD that works fine with other devices.

I dug out the Garmin one and it worked straight away.

Sounds odd I know, but it worked for me.

My Garmin has this issue too. I'll try and hunt out the cable as per Stuey's suggestion.

I have the same problem but hadn't heard about the USB cable thing. I usually just chuck all cables for new devices into a pile so it could be an interesting search unless there is something to distinguish it as a Garmin one.

The Garmin one is quite short if I remember rightly. HTH ๐Ÿ™‚

Will check it's the original Garmin lead although I'm fairly sure it is as I don't think I had any cables with the Garmin size connection prior to getting my Garmin, if that makes sense.

Data wise it's got Kielder from the weekend, a couple of 8hr mb rides done in Aug, a fair few Sat mb rides 3ish hrs, numerous 2-2.5hr road bike stuff, quite a lot really ๐Ÿ™

uplink - where do you get Training Centre from? is it a Garmin thing.

I was unable to upload a ride to Garmin Connect for the 1st time last weekend, just refused it.

Do you use Strava? It's much better than Garmin Connect and also loaded the ride that Garmin Connect couldn't. Strava allows you to compare performance on climbs and other sections in a ride against previous runs and other users so pretty great really.

I've bitched and moaned about Garmin elsewhere......I'd thoroughly recommend uploading after every ride if you can, as per above they dont like holding too much data.
