Am I the only person who didn't know that you don't need a Garmin GPS to use Garmin Connect?

I've just uploaded the GPX files from my MotionX free iPhone GPS app to it and it works brilliantly. Much less clunky than mapmyride which I'd been using before.

I did have a MyGarmin account as I own a Street Pilot i3 Satnav and must have registered it at some point. But you can probably register without owning a product.

Cool, been meaning to try this as I tend to use my HTC Hero for route tracking these days since my Garmin Edge broke. Agree, mapmyride is too clunky...always preferred Garmin's one - I'll try it out!

Is your iphone on the bars or does it work from within your bag?

Thanks for the tip.

I stick the phone in a jersey pocket (small of back) or in the phone pocket on the camelback.

Cheers for the heads up on Motion-X by the way. Upgrading to full version now... and buying Angry Birds 😀

Only spotted it was cheap when I looked to see what it was added to my collection now. Angry Birds is great also worth a look is Bird Strike.
