I did a ride yesterday on my road bike, but the Garmin was set up for my mountain bike i.e. different wheel size. I think it might have worked out the actual wheel size, but how can I be sure? Is there somewhere in the file that will say what wheel size the recording was based on?
Isn't it using the GPS to measure distance?
Is it a GPS one... if it is, then the satellites need re calibrating ...

Which model, don't think you can change it after the fact anyway. It will only matter if you have a wheel speed sensor though ?
it's a Garmin 500, it has a wheel/ cadence sensor. Looking at the ride, the figures look similar to 2 others on the ride who recorded it on Strava so I think it's automatically recalibrated.
I think the default setting for the Garmin speed/cadence sensor is auto calibrate, when this setting is used the Garmin automatically sets your wheel size after you've done a few hundred yards. If you've manually set a wheel size, more fool you. ๐
