Hi, just bought a new garmin 810 at Christmas. It's got the latest software on it.
On a couple of longer rides the screen has frozen and I've had to press the two buttons to restart it. This has happened when following directions and in a normal ride mode.
When it restarts it gives me the option to save the ride. Then it starts a new ride.
Is this just something garmins do or do I need to return it whilst it's still under warranty?

i have a Garmin 500, it's never done that in three years of use.

My 810 doesn't do that...
That has happened to mine once, I think, in 2 years of 810 ownership.

Anyone sent a garmin back? What's the turnaround time?
From reading the Garmin 810 forum it appears that a lot of the 810 crash problems may be map related, are you using OSM mapping by any chance? If so a replacement device is unlikely to help.
The last time I sent anything back to Garmin (a couple of years ago) the turnaround time was about a week.

Same with my 810. Using OSM maps. Not returned it as heard issue is so common, new device will probably be the same.
I restart it halfway on long rides.
