Anyone know if the Edge 1000 will fit onto the regular Garmin out front mount in terms of having enough room to rotate the device? I notice that there is now an "extended" out front mount which I am guessing is different to the original one? Or is it?

Buggeh. Not cheap are they either. Thank goodness there's one in the box.

Cheers.

Hmmm, having had one of the tabs on the mount on my 810 break off when using a non-Garmin mount I am wary. It may not have been the mount, just bad luck, but would rather not have it happen again.

The fix was good though, Dogs Ear CNC replacement as recommended on here.

K-edge ones are known to damage the tabs because they're very tight, and have less 'give' being metal.

I thought the later K-edge mounts have plastic inserts to prevent tab breakage.

Aah, my apologies, you're quite right they do now. Problem solved!

Mate uses one of these for his Edge 1000. I have a couple of them, too (although I use them for an Edge 510). These place the device in line with the bars, rather than above.
