[#4941471]

We've ditched one of our cars so the garage is now a bike workshop. It's still a mess but the cupboards and drawers are still emptyish so there's hope to one day get it properly organised. It's heated and quite light and airy thanks to the windows.

Our bedroom is directly underneath. The window is 4m above ground level. There's a big heavy door and a motion activated alarm. Most importantly though, it's in Switzerland where residential crime is <almost> non-existent.

Possibly better than a new bike!

Very cool. What's that little blue thing on the bench? It looks like a vice only smaller.

Very organized.

Mine stays that way for about 1 day, the day I tidied it.

I think it will last the weekend. The hose still works despite being coiled somewhat haphazardly. The thing that looks like a small vice is a small vice.

No the Swiss prefer to live off the profits from other peoples crimes.

Very nice. But I'm confused. Bedroom underneath? 1st floor garage? Is your house upside down?

Plus points for natural light and radiator.

Negative props for unpainted floor and domestic rug.

There's not much flat building land in Switzerland. It's common for houses to be built on the side of hills. Garage and some bedrooms at the top, living rooms, kitchen and more bedrooms in the middle and cellar and garden at the bottom.

A strange arrangement if you're coming from the UK but quite normal here. All that "profiting from other peoples' crimes" evidently does strange things to our architects...

Schweiz, are you left handed by any chance, or that vice will be a real pig to use

Bench was from westfalia-versand.ch

Was it expensive? It's Switzerland, what do you think! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Candodavid - erm, you've got a point there. Lucky it's a clamp fitting rather than bolted!

Honestly it just looks way too clean: it's not a workshop it's a museum!

Looking good!

I'm currently planning my own garage renovation project after buying a place. Quick question....What have you used to lock the bikes to? Is that a rack sunk into the floor? Or are they not locked?
