Galibier bike clothing?

I'm looking for some bib-knickers / 3/4s and these came up in my search. I've no experience of them and was wondering about quality, comfort and fit. Any feedback on here?

In particular I'd like to hear from anyone who has both the regular and cargo version of the bib-knickers as fit seems a bit different.

Cheers.

Can't comment on the specific items, but every bit of Galibier kit I've had has been really good indeed.

I’d echo that Galibier is pretty good kit & is generally a good bargain.

I've got some gloves and a jacket and very happy with them. As above reasonable prices too

Another fan. Not had the 3/4s but jackets, gloves and winter tights have been great. Fit is just on the slim side rather then Fat Lad, but the guides have neen accurate

@scotroutes, do you follow velomind on FB ?

Steven is an ex GBMC, long time roadie, who is 'I think' an ambassador for them, anyway he raves about their kit, which is rare for him !

Only used the winter bib tights but very happy they make stuff in various leg lengths. Would definitely buy more stuff when needed.  Fir guide accurate for me.

Galibier stuff is definitely good quality and at a decent price, on top of that it’s a family owned business and has the whole family involved in it, including the kids. They set out to create good kit at a fair price and as far as I can see it’s as good as the premium brands.

I did a cycle show last year and had the stand beside Myles, got to learn a lot about his business and outlook on things. They are my go to now as I like to support the small guys who are passionate about their products.

@clubby "they make stuff in various leg lengths"

That's news to me (as someone with very long legs).  What products?

Bib fit is personal preference, but I've always had good quality stuff from Galibier and good service too.

I've got various bits of their kit, it's all good. As with most cycle clothing, size up if you're not a racing snake.

@b33k34 I have the Mistral winter bibs tights but the Peleton bib shorts also come in three lengths.

Madison also started doing some stuff in different legs lengths as well.

I got a jacket off them earlier this year. Its nice, and pretty good for the price. However, sizing , for me, was out. I used the size guide, and ordered a large, got it, and couldnt even get it on. I spoke to them, they said get the next size up, which, just fits, though thats a roadie fit rather than MTB fit. Returns were easy, they paid both ways.

Not got those items but the kit is great. Not in a great value for money way but a properly great way.

Most of my road and gravel wardrobe is now Galibier. The quality is excellent and their pricing is realistic.

I find it hard to justify buying kit from anywhere else now.

I tend to read the reviews when it comes to sizing for some real world feedback but broadly, the size guides are accurate. Size up if in doubt.

I've got the 3/4 bibs. My comfiest bibs. Great pad and good build quality. I'm less keen on the mesh upper - but the latest model seems to have addressed that.
Two of my lads have and really rare their liner shorts.
They're outlasting Endura, Scott and Mavic shorts or tights of various kinds, and yet the Galibier 3/4 and bib shorts are first out the drawer when I've a choice.

Funnily enough I used to find their fit a bit too loose.

As an ex roadie, super skinny, I found their jerseys and jackets too loose.

Now I’m an old fat knacker the fit is spot on for me. Way more comfortable than the size size of other roadie brands.

I love one of their gilets, I’ve had the size small, medium and now just bought a size large….and I’m now in size large in clothes.

Their long sleeve jersey is very good.

As for bib tights, I've seen these is the flesh and they seem very good, noticably better than their cheaper or more expensive pairs.

My favourite tights are Gore C3 ones, they're not too thick though, so not as warm as some. I do like the windproof crotch.

The best advice on tights IMO is to buy ones without a pad and wear them over your favourite bib shorts. You can buy decent bib tights without pad very cheaply.

I have only bought a pair of winter gloves so far, but:

Delivery spot on,

Pricing good,

Fit spot on,

Comfort spot on,

Warmth, err, spot on.

Will be top of the list for next piece of cycle clothing.

Got a few bits and pieces. Quality is usually decent but more than anything they always seem to have a good vibe, with the odd freebie chucked with your parcel. Maybe it's an old Jedi mind sales trick but I always feel good about buying stuff from them.

I have a couple of their jerseys, nice kit at a decent price. They come up a bit smaller than some brands.

I can't see the cargo bib knickers or the variable length legs?

Really good kit, but as a current fatty the sizing is snug......  I have a jacket I bought perhaps slightly optimistically thats now my 2024 diet motivation.

Bought a jersey off them when I first got into cycling back in 2017 or so as my first "nice" jersey: aka not a muddyfox one or something. Still got it now, still in VGC and is super comfy. It has really nice arm gripers and cuffs on it.

You can tell they are having a decent bit of fun coming up with sometimes odd jersey designs etc but the quality is still really good.

Just to interrupt the love-in. I've one of their reversible gillets that split its seams on the shoulders where my rucksack straps wore them away in less than 3 months of admittedly more or less daily use. Their response was a bit of shrug and letting me know that I could probably sew it up if I could be bothered to.

Yeah. Seems to have gone now.

Thanks for the all feedback. I'll likely take a punt and check out their returns policy.
