Normally I hate snow. This time I've been loving it 🙂
Sorry, it won't work on mobile devices... it won't let me change it.

Nice. You look fast downhill. Try spinning on the ups to stop the bob.

That's made me laugh. You've just told Matt Page how to ride a bike. 😆 He'd destroy you (and me too) both up and down.

Good video Matt!

Define special? He's a very very handy bike rider... And he's Welsh. Special in multiple ways.

Well, he's won numerous 24 hour races and has finished 9th in elite at a UK Gravity Enduro.

So on the basis then that this fella is actually pretty good, how much of that is technique and how much was the ice spikes?

Fair play - makes my pathetic use of the GoPro today look rather ordinary!

Cool video!

You just made the entire fatbike fad look utterly redundant!

All due respect like, but I don't see any deep snow in test 4? Looks like just a couple of inches.

Best bit about ice spikers is the skid marks they leave  though my garage floor is starting to look a bit second hand.

Spiked tyres....that's so last session(*)

I was out at the weekend with semi slicks!!

I kid you not, I chucked em on a few weeks ago as I'd been towing the kids around in their trailer on cycle paths.

Popped out Friday night for a quick blast and thought sod it..they've cleared a couple of cycle psycho paths...I'll just stick to them...

Obviously I saw a bit of snow and thought...let's just see...couldn't believe it....they worked pretty well....although it was really cold and hard snow!

(*) Although I will hold my hand up and say I wasn't "quite" going the same speed as Matt 🙂

Nice video, think I may have to look at them there spiked tyres!

Semi slicks work well in snow because there's no centre tread to clog, a semi slick with a decent edge is my preferred rear tyre for snow, so much fun to drift into corners before the side knobs hook up, touch the brakes and you'll be sideways and on many climbs you'll be pushing but still well worth it for the amount of fun you'll have.
Ice is another matter entirely and as this video shows, ice spikes are the ones!

Oh heck, I feel a mixture of inspiration and a sense of complete inadequacy watching that! I hadn't realised that I was such a mincer of the snow. Well my excuse - front tyres old bontrager jones' but at least decent nobbys on the back!! I think matt rides faster in snow that I do in good conditions!! Nice video and like the no-slip start on the frozen pond. Thanks for posting!

Does "pro" refer to the tires or to Matt?
