Fullface helmet hire in Morzine?

Got some pals joining us next month, who don’t have fullface helmets as they’re generally wheels-on-the-ground type riders. Is it possible to hire them in Morzine without getting a free DH rig thrown in, does anyone know?

Apologies, not helpful for your direct query, but I think I’d just buy a cheap one for my own use.  The thought of a second hand helmet that had been, at best, sweated in by multiple users, at worse, crashed in, would put me off.

Had the same deliberation with my first ski trip this year, of all the kit, I bought a cheapo ski helmet of my own.

Maybe ping an email to Freeride Morzine, or ask Jo at Rideability (helpful chap).

I would just buy one. Find an end of line deal that’s fits. It probably won’t be much more than hiring one anyway.

something like this if it fits

I’d be wary of donning someone else’s sweaty helmet indeed (!). Just want to give folk options. Tredz do rhe not-spendy-at-all 7IDP jobbies and 100% goggles which have always done me proud.

Who knows how many sweaty heads have crashed in that helmet over the years. Buy one.

Or just wear an open helmet. If they are wheels on the ground riders they aren't going to start suddenly smashing big air jumps just because it's Morzine. There are loads of different grades of trails there

7iDP M1 is the same helmet as the old 661 Comp full facer. Less than £70 to buy. Not the lightest but I found my 661 very comfy and recently replaced it with a new 7iDP one. Rare nowadays that I'll use a full facer like this but no way would I hire one when they're this cheap to buy!

And it's very easy to get fooled by the grading. I've encountered many a rider on the red on the pleney on the verge of tears. Or plenty on the blue named "Family" which is anything but a family trail

This - turning up to morzine doesn't suddenly turn you into a wild freerider

You know you don't have to be catching air to have a massive OTB to smashed face right? You can do so much riding in a day that the relative exposure is huge and it gets tiring over a few days so mistakes happen easier.  There may be some danger compensation that means that they're actually better off with a regular lid but you only get one head.

You don't need jumps or drops to smash your face off the ground. If you're doing lift-assisted riding, and far more descending than you usually do in a day (then repeated for several more) there is a higher chance of crashing, especially when fatigue kicks in. There are no drawbacks to wearing a full-facer on this sort of trip, but many potential downsides from not.

As above, perfect time to pick up discounted full facers for well under £100.

I can vouch for that Endura helmet above in terms of quality and comfort, did the Alps in it last year. Didn't land on my head to test it properly though.

Well vented for pedalling around a bit as well.

Last year we hired full face helmets from Intersports just by the Super Morzine lifts.

They were basic but seemed decent - certainly didn't appear to have any crash marks or smell horrible!

Not expensive at all, much less than a full face to buy,  I think you can hire online too.

Even if you only ever wear a fullface on holiday that'll still add up in a few years. But maybe you'll come home and do an uplift and it'll be useful there. +1 for buying one of your own.
