My beloved 05 fuel ex frame is worse for wear - the shell for the main pivot bearings is worn and beyond salvage with loads of lateral play in the rear end.

Have recently replaced wheels/forks/most of gpset so a new frame rather than bike seems to make sense.

Thinking anthem x/fuel ex/five/pace 405 maybe or plan b - buy a hardtail frame.

Mainly ride peaks xc and trail centres but may do some 12/24hr races next year.

Any thoughts?

i have just built an ex9 (2007 frame) to ride at trail centres etc and I love it
i am using it instead of my hard tail so i would look at another ex9 or the anthem (i wanted one of these but could nt find a 2nd hand frame) or as you said the pace

once you have got your new one then get a hard tail for the 12/24 hr races!
