Anyone know a good place to source bearings for a fuel ex 2005?

Also how long do they usually last - seem to be getting through them every 4-5 months riding twice a week.....

(I'm not that little but don't ride that hard)

Are you pressure washing the bike after use?

I used CRC the last time for my liquid fuel, but you will source them at any bearing distributor. The ones I used where 6805 and 608 - 2RS but they might be different for your frame.

May well be worth you carefully prising off the seals with a Stanley blade and packing them with a decent grease, they're intended for high speed use so only have a small amount as standard.

Cheers folks, no not pressure washing at all - just gentle hose at normal tap pressure and a scrub then a dry and lube....

Presume it's just a matter of undoing the main bolt at the chainstays with an allen key? Or is it not that simple?

2005 Fuel EX used a bonded in bearing. Often it's not the bearing thats worn, but the bearing disbonding from the frame.

If the bearing just "drops" out when you move the swing-arm away then the bonding has broken down. if yo're tight - sometimes you'll get away with re-bonding the original bearing.

when you re-install, you need to clean the area thoroughly, removing any trace of older loctite (fine wet'n'dry paper is good), and then re-bond with loctite 638 and re-assemble bike. Leave overnight resisting the temptation to compress the suspension.
