[Closed] FSA Gossamer/Dura Ace Compatibility (BikeRadar can't help me!)

As the bikeradar forum has been down for the past few days I've been unable to ask my road cycling question on there.

I know, despite the grumblings, there are plenty of closet roadies on STW, so at risk of getting flayed alive I'll ask it here!

I've got a Planet X road bike with an FSA Gossamer compact alloy chainset with an external bottom bracket. The latter started squeaking badly under load at the weekend- I suspect it's days are numbered. I have read that you can use a shimano bottom bracket to replace the FSA one.

So my question is; if I buy a Dura Ace Hollowtech 2 bottom bracket will it work? If so is there any difference between the 7800 and 7900 models?
