ho hum, went out on a long ride yesterday and had to stop half a dozen times cos my pads were sort of slurring (disc brake pads and no they arent worn down ! but i could hardly get up any hills which isnt like me so after six times of stopping and checking the wheel we took out the pads...hence i was tired with trying to pedal harder.
so carried on carefully with one brake (thankgod they are brand new )..
hubby checked the bike when i got home and it looks like ... if the wheel itself in not aligned dead centre then it shifts to one side (hence the dragging scenerio and peddling harder... ggggg
is there anything else i can do ???

I'm a little confused - how would the wheel shift sideways? Are the bearings failing and allowing the hub body to move on the axle (hence causing disc binding)?

Bent rotor? Brake bled with part worn pads, then fresh ones put in (or something?!)

Are you sure you don't just need to move the caliper so it's centered on the rotor?

Assuming you have calipers that don't need shims, loosen caliper bolts just enough so the caliper is free to move. Apply brake hard & tighten up caliper bolts (whilst brake on). Your caliper is now centred on the disc
