Having changed to 2x9 (22/34 11-34) i'm having problems with front mech shifting, chain keeps coming of the 34 chainring. I've made all the usual adjustments, looks like I need to lower the front mech but this is hindered by the frame & the depth of the mech.
Do specific double chainring front mechs differ from traditional 3 ring mechs ie more compact so you can fit them lower, nearer to the chainrings ?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Is it jumping from the 34t chainring to the small ring or jumping off to where the big ring used to be?
It's jumping of the 34 to where the big ring used to be?
Use the limit screw to stop it shifting too far across (i.e. in to where the big ring used to be).
With some top swing front mechs, the limit screws snag if you screw them in as far as you need to for 2x. Screw the high one in while you yank on the cable to see how far it's able to go before binding, then back it off a bit. Make sure the cage outer plate is parallel to the chainrings too.
