Hi all,
After a bit of advice, just bought a frame with direct mount for the front mech on the seat tube.
Shimano do one, an XT on and at CRC are £23.99. However, this is a 10 sp one. Will it work on a 9 speed set up ?

Thanks

What frame? There's a few direct mount style. For frames like the Rocky Mountain with the high direct mount there's an XT M771 9 speed job, and possibly an SLX too.

For frames like Spesh with the 'DMD' they're just an E-type with the BB mount removed.

The 10 speed one will work, but you may get some more rubbing than with a 9 speed.

Frame is a Yeti Big top with a specific direct mount on the seat tube so it wont be a E-Type.

Thanks
