reasonably happy with frogglegs cantis on my sort of cx fugly better than road brakes - been working fine and so far adjusting not been a huge pain,. if not that easy - but this time it is like the springs simply aren't pulling the blocks back off the wheel - now with shimano canti's you could adjust the spring tension by relocating where the spring plugged into - not so on these - have tried bending end of spring a bit but no real help so do i just bend the spring a bit more? or am i doing something wrong?

...waits.... for why didn't you buy tektro posts

Take them off and clean the springs with wd40 or similar. Mine have got a bit sticky sometimes. Have you checked your cable inner isn't sticking in the outer.

have you got the correct spring on the left/right side? ive got some and the spring tension starts when the arm is at almost 90degrees to when it would contact the rim. If the pads are sticking to the rim its probably hooking due to pad/rim wear.

- had them off but reading the Sheldon Brown article maybe should clean up bosses and grease them - ruled out cable friction as even without cable being attached they don't really spring back off the wheel - my front ones do though

there should be 3 different hioles on the frame for the springs. If they arent returning put them into the lower holes

think i see what you mean - will check that

yes the blocks were hooking due to previous poor adjustment so i took them off and gave them the ones over with a stanley knife - no expense spared here!

numpty alert!!! realised what problem is - on rear am using a mavic adaptor - 26" mtb frame with 700c wheels the springs fit into the mavic adaptor which only has the one whole position - and that doesn't create much spring tension - maybe ok when all clean but with trail dirt - will clean it all up a bit more and either drill another hole or bend springs
