I rode Paul Hintons bike when I asked him to give a talk at school. Loads of lads rode and raced and the turn out was pretty good. He was quite inspiring.

Still got the signed poster! I know where one of the original team bikes lives, fairly envious.

That Raliegh is a genuine ex-team job.
The Fuquay belongs to my best mate. It's Tange Ultimate Ultrastong. That was fresh from having it's cracked seat tube replaced. The decals are actually paint. They were created from scans and masked off.
Mine is P20 8)

Retrobikers are a nice and very knowledgeable bunch, but my mrs has declined my suggestion to come on another ride. Late, faffing blokes, unreliable old kit, large group and some hills made it one of the coldest, slowest rides she'd ever done 🙂

Sent my Spooky Metalhead frame away yesterday so I am now officially retro-less. A Ti-Mega would make me return in a heart beat. That Fuquay is lovely.

The cut off on Retrobike has been placed at 1997. Which makes my P20 non retro, but when I tried to sell it, they moved it in to the pre 1997 section based on what it was.

I remember overtaking that wee Raleigh girl team pro at Kielder one year (how crap were courses those days!?)

She fell off on a gentle fire road climb 😀

Keep meaning to rebuild my '92 Klein Fervour. It's wrapped in blankets under the spare bed ATM, jist need to find a decent 1" steerer stem in under 100000mm long.

Anything that's not a 'new' standard. – 26" wheels, straight steerers, and anything with a front mech thingy, or whatever that we're called 😆

I got a Gary Fisher Prometheus frame (Ti) earlier this year from Gumtree, was going to retro it from an old xtr equipped cheapo frame jobbie I had made up in 1991, then decided to put disc brakes and a 100 mm fork on it (from my sons old trek 4400) and am quite enjoying using it now, not quite retro but am still looking for a Kuwahara Shasta frame to put the old xtr gear on for a proper retrobike. (I have been offered dibbs on one from a guy 50 miles away so it may happen yet)

There's a 'new' attitude comp on ebay, 1999, for a grand. I'm more swayed by Konas and Marins (if anyone sees a Bear Valley SE around 1993 please let me know!).

My 1994 Lava dome.

Mainly gets used for commuting these days but now and again it's nice to leave the modern bikes in the shed and get it out on the Quantocks 8)

Caroline Alexander lives about 500m down the road from me. I've seen her out riding on some absolute retro beauties over the years, the Klein Adept and the 2001 Spesh team bike being two of the highlights.

Got a gt sts as my retro ride. Sadly no pics though and I do not dare ride it anywhere majorly interesting as it's my second sts frame after the first one cracked.

I know a boring office guy who commutes to work on an old lugged carbon marin with a generous helping of fluro paint. That bike is wasted on him.
