What's your threshold for deciding what form of transport to use for a journey - where's the cutoff between walking, riding, driving and whatever?

I'll walk anything up to about a mile, bike up to 5 or 6 then drive after that. I know the bike figure's woefully low compared to some of you, but if I'm going further than that I usually have more stuff to carry than is sensible on a bike - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I'll walk if it's only 5-10 minutes. After that I'll get on the bike. If it's too far to ride there I'm not going as I don't have a car ๐Ÿ˜‰

Time is also a factor. I'm happy to walk 5 miles or so, and ride 20-30 odd, but the car would come into play for either if I needed to get there in a hurry for some reason.

depends what the reason is really. Used to walk 4 miles to work, walked to the football match and back last Saturday which was around 8 there and back. Ride 20 miles each way to work, would probably do up to 25.

Drive?
