So, could the Santa Cruz in 29 be light enough to me my ideal Trail / Marathon bike? App - check. 100/120 travel - check. Decent "trail" Geo - check. R spec on 2018 budget - check. Weight= ???

Some googling suggests the Hightower R 29 to be in the 31lb ballpark. Thats that off the list then.

That's a tallboy, iirc a Hightower is a little more trail/beefier, thus a bit heavier
