Afternoon all...
Looking for an alternative holiday destination- going to be driving, but not looking to go too far. Will be crossing into Calais/Boulogne.
Probably departing in early August.
Not really looking for Alpine riding, something a little more XC.
Any ideas?

Save cash by leaving your car in the UK and travel as foot passenger with une velo to one ferry port and then cycle to another. Eg: calais to st malo?
Still a reasonable way but lots of nice XC stuff around Limoges. stratobiker off here showed us some lovely stuff especially around the Monts de Blond. Very pleasant area to hang out too - we stayed in Rochechouart last summer in a place stratobiker found for us.

Head to the voges - we went to lac blanc as a stop off to somewhere else and had Mrs GDRS and I had a good time. It's past Lux - but it's not the alps.....
