[#3718584]

Hiya, one for the techie staterlite group...

being a bit of a newb about this, but want to get the setup up before the F1 season starts.

I got the B&Q HD kit and setup and its pointing at 28E for the usual freesat channels.

now want to get the 19E RTL satellite - was wondering what i need, after searching the net i get confused ! my dish is a FIXED 65cm.

Do i need an (universal?) LNB holder bracker, a 2nd LNB in that bracket and some disqec switch to pipe into my reciever (thats has disqec settings in it on the menu's)
or do i get one of these fancy things that look like 2 lnb's stuck in one mount? or is that not 'flexible' enough to get both signals and also be at the right angles and skew and stuff.

many thanks for the input !

GO JENSON!!!!!!!!!!

you can either move the dish to 19.2 and lose the freesat channels or you will need a double lnb or 2 singles and move the dish so it is inbetween the 2 satellites, in which case your reciver will need to be able to switch between sats as well

There's some chat on digitalspy about just sticking the 19E LNB next to the 28E one on one dish and getting acceptable results. I've decided not to bother yet & see how I get on with just watching the Beeb and getting some of my Sunday afternoons back.

hmmm now i am a bit more confused, although thanks for the responses - looking at that digital spy....i thought the gap of 9 degrees would mean a huge distance between the 2 lnb's?? ive been looking a ebay brackets that have a big arm/....urmmm am i looking at the wrong things?
maybe those 2lnbs in one (monoblock are they called) would work then??? and i think they have inbuilt disqeccy things too....

Your reciever has the disqec built in this enables it to be used on more than 1 sat. The monoblock just scoops up the signal hitting the dish

so i dont need an arm/bracket or a 2nd lnb, one of those monoblocks with the 2lnb in them wouldbe fine?

[hijack] another question whilst we're on freesat...[/hijack]

Changed the LNB from a twin to a quad a year or two ago - two feeds to the Freesat box to allow recording feature, third feed to an old Sky box in another room.

All worked fine to start with - could watch one channel and record another.

As time has gone on we increasingly get conflicts where we can only record what we are watching - very frustrating. Any hints on how to correct?

Signal is good for both feeds and we re-tune the channels fairly frequently.

I do find the freesat UI a bit clunky (on a Foxsat HDR unit) - so maybe some numpty user issues here!
