[Closed] Freeride Madeira

Either bike would be fine.

There is minimal pedalling uphill, but there is some pedalling uphill.

You'll be fine in a half lid, but I have a bell super dh with the removable chin bar for these kind of circumstances where you don't know whether a full face will be required.

The riding is great, you'll love it.

Take a headtorch, or similar (you'll most likely thank me for this advice on one of the days!).

Either bike will be fine. When I went I hired a Scott Ransom, which was ideal, but could have managed with a bit less travel. There's not an awful lot of pedalling required (the clue's in the name).

I spend 6 months of the year living in Madeira and ride the trails near daily. You can never be over-biked if you are doing uplift (which is what Freeride Madeira will do with their vans and trailers).

Also, take a full face helmet and good body armour. The rocks are merciless! I wear a full face, knee and shin guards and a fully upper body/arm suit and I still have scars to show.

Absolutely awesome place (way better than any of the videos) and Freeride Madeira is a great company who will parachute you onto only the very best trails on the island (most of which they have made).
