Lbs have just told my son that a 9 speed will fit on his new wheels but 10 speed won't. Is this true?

8,9,10 speed freehub bodies are the same

Tried telling him this yesterday on the phone but he still insisted on selling me a new free hub body when asked to quote for 10 speed set-up. Was great going into the shop and watching the 10 sp. cassette slip on....
