mmm - could be useful for those solo night rides for the non nokia-toting sportstracker brigade.

When I was on Windows Mobile I used Sprite Mobile Terminator for my GPS tracking needs, specifically because it doesn't require constant GPS and data use.
The app is installed and will run in the background taking up close to no memory in use. When a text containing the correct syntax and password is received, your phone will silently obtain a GPS fix and text it back to the sender with a link to Google Maps. Pretty sweet.

We didn't use that but we did use GPS tracking at SiTS. Bloody marvellous. Watching one of our riders (the moving dot) get broken and come back on a quad confused the hell out of us (until we saw the quad arrive).
